Tryavna is formed as the geographical center of the region still in the 18 century. The earliest evidence for the existence of the village are from the time of the Thracian tribes who inhabited the Balkan peninsula. Development of crafts during the Bulgarian Revival in Tryavna leads not only to the economic upturn, but also the creation of the oldest art school in Bulgaria - Tryavna.
